Sammanfattning

I am writing to you to request WMSE support to participate in m:Wikipedia for Peace/Europride Vienna 2019. I am planning to participate in the above-mentioned event in Vienna.

Budget

flights (Tehran-Vienna  estimated  amount of 500 euro)

6 nights hostel 120 euro

(Wikimedia Austria would be helping with food and transportation and visa fee and venue and equipment needed.)

Tidplan
Förväntat resultat, med SMARTa mål
  • As part of advocacy working group members (https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Strategy/Wikimedia_movement/2018-20/Working_Groups/Advocacy) I am planning to outreach members of LGBTQ community about their needs and issues surrounding Wikipedia and sister projects and what do they expect from Wikipedia and how could work together and possibly build some capacities.
  • Trying to document the event through different mediums like Video and pictures which will be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons.
  • Possibly host edit-a-thon for Swedish and other participants of the event.
  • Raise awareness through Wikipedia articles about Swedish LGBTQ activists in different languages.

Redovisning

As a result of my trip to Vienna in a collective effort with other participants:

  1. 119 new articles were created in Farsi, Arabic and Serbian and English Wikipedias, All major Swedish LGBT rights activist have full coverage on all this Wikipedias as result of this effort
  2. 5 articles were improved
  3. 30 wikidata items were created and improved
  4. Whole group participation in the Europride 2019 Human Rights Conferenc
  5. Whole group participation in the June Wikimedia LGBT+ monthly meeting
  6. Wikimedia Movement Strategy discussion and recommendations, the discussion was on how to make Wikimedia websites less harassment-free for LGBT, members. recommendation were sent to related working group members
  7. 1000 new photos added to Wikimedia commons to enrich coverage on LGBT right members
  8. at least 20 articles in different Wikipedias now have pictures in them because of this effort
